Originally opened as part of the HiBall Lounge in 1997 (and Newly updated in 2019) the Bamboo Hut spun off on its own in 2000. The bamboo-covered walls and an Iconic 1940s 7-foot Tiki Head set the tone for what The Bamboo Hut is: a classic, old-school, neighborhood Tiki bar.

We proudly serve great tiki cocktails without any attitude - well, ok, maybe a bit of sarcasm.
Whether you want a perfectly refined Mai Tai or a Flaming Volcano Bowl for you and your friends (or keep it for yourself - we won’t judge…) we have you covered.

Private & Semi-Private Events in the Heart of North Beach

Whether you're planning a birthday bash, bachelorette party, corporate happy hour, or just want to take over a Tiki bar with 30 to 100 of your closest friends — The Bamboo Hut has been helping our friends host epic parties on Broadway St. since 1997.

We offer two ways to make the night yours: book the Jungle Room for a semi-private experience, or buy out the entire bar for a fully private event. Either way, you get tropical cocktails, a bartender with actual personality, and a bamboo-covered atmosphere that you definitely won't find at a hotel ballroom.

Can I rent out the entire Bamboo Hut?

Yes! Full bar buyouts are available for private events. Email max@bamboohutsf.com with your date, estimated headcount, and occasion, and we'll make it happen. Most buyout events run from 6-9 pm or 7-10 pm, then open to the public

What is the Jungle Room?

The Jungle Room is our semi-private event space — perfect for groups who want their own corner of the bar without buying out the whole place. Great for smaller gatherings of 15–30 people, or as a home base for larger events.

What nights are available for private events?

The Bamboo Hut is available for private and semi-private events almost any night. We're regularly open Wednesday through Saturday, with Djs on the weekends, and private buyouts can be arranged outside regular hours as well.

Is there a minimum spend? Yes, typically minimums start at $500 but can vary by event type and date.

Email us and we'll do our best work with your budget and make it is easy. Sometimes, party reservations are free. Don’t be afraid to ask.
